Car Rental Software for Store Fleets: Unlock, Deposits and Returns

Ptaxi’s store car-rental product is built around a customer app, a store app and a PC admin. It is self-drive rental with optional delivery and chauffeur add-ons — not the car-plus-driver carsharing line.

Customer journey

Customers pick a city and store, set dates, and filter vehicles. Stores declare whether they support one-way return, door-to-door delivery and deposit-free rental. At checkout the customer chooses return method: in-store, paid delivery, or with a chauffeur. Coupons apply; unpaid orders expire after a short hold.

At pickup they confirm vehicle condition, can inspect the cabin using remote unlock, then start the rental. Return waits for store confirmation. Smart unlock, flash and honk, and scan-to-rent at fixed spots support unstaffed handoff when you want it.

Corporate accounts can book with pre- or post-trip approval. Wedding bookings require the chauffeur return method in the documented flow.

Store app

Stores verify with license details, upload vehicles with pricing (platform templates or custom), and confirm bookings with mileage and condition photos. Delivery or chauffeur jobs need a driver assigned. On return, stores upload condition again and may add fees that trigger a second payment.

Fleet views show vehicles under review, on rent and available, including remote door control where enabled. Service toggles cover delivery, one-way return, deposit-free and chauffeur.

Admin: money and trust

Pricing plans cover vehicle and violation deposits, base service fees, weekday/weekend/holiday base rates, overtime and over-mileage, chauffeur fees and delivery fees. Platform commission is configurable per store. Deposit records, invoices and dispute handling between store and customer sit in the back office.

Store, vehicle and enterprise applications go through verification review before they go live. That queue is the difference between a marketplace and a free-for-all.

What this product is not

It is not a promise of a specific telematics hardware brand. Smart unlock is in the feature list; device protocols and suppliers should be confirmed in the project scope. It is also not the carsharing system for car-plus-driver hire — use that page if drivers collect and return cars for customers.

Demo checklist

• Book a car with delivery enabled; confirm the store must assign a driver.

Why deposits fail in spreadsheets

Vehicle deposits and violation deposits look simple until two stores refund on different rules. The admin deposit ledger exists so finance can see paid, held and refunded amounts per order. If your current process is a shared sheet, migration pain is mostly mapping old open deposits — plan a cut-over weekend.

Invoices (paper or electronic) and minimum invoice amounts follow the same patterns as other Ptaxi lines. Enterprise recharge and approval flows matter if corporate accounts will be a real channel, not a slide.

Staffing model

Smart unlock reduces night staffing; it does not remove exception handling. Someone still clears dispute queues when a return photo set is incomplete. Design the store role permissions so a junior can confirm returns without editing platform commission.
